Team Summary

* Extracted from Fairport’s Hourglass Yearbooks, unless noted otherwise.

This year’s Raiders were highly regarded in the Monroe County AA League. Because of the newly rearranged league, the team played ten league games, six non-league games, and two games with Batavia and Lyons at the Rush-Henrietta Tournament. Seniors made up nine of the fifteen varsity players. Leading the attack were guards Fred Centofanti and Sam Stolt, forwards Steve Garner, Tom King, Jim Cross, and Bob Peters, and centers Jim Smith and Ray Nesbitt. Because of their good performances, many of the players seemed to have a good chance to be named to the all-county teams.

Highlights of the season included a one point upset over Brockport and a come-from-behind victory over Brighton. At press time the Raiders earned a well-deserved victory over Pittsford and kept alive the possibility of winning a berth in the Secion V playoffs.
