Team Summary

* Extracted from Fairport’s Hourglass Yearbooks, unless noted otherwise.

This year’s basketeers were tall and full of spirit. With only three Seniors, the Raiders were a young team, paving the way for a good season next year. The Raiders started the campaign dribbling over Gates-Chili, but then fell into a losing skein of six games before recovering at Webster with the help of Bob Harris’s 27 points. The team followed with two more victories over Gates-Chili and Penfield.

The Penfield game proved that the Raiders had a tremendous defense as they held the opponents to a meager 13 points for the game. At East Rochester, the Raiders encountered the unbeaten Bombers. Though our hoopsters were defeated by four points, they had lost by fewer points than any other team in the league. At press time, the Raiders had won three of their last four, with seven more games to go. The new spark in the team shows that they might be the upsetters of the league.
