Eight seniors returned to form the backbone of the varsity basketball team for 1966-67: Gary Raymond, Bill Shearer, Glenn Granger, Fred Heil, Bob Porta, Lex Sleeman, Jon Paddock, and Larry Brown. Co-captains were Bill Shearer and Gary Raymond.
Mr. Paddock feels that though this was a “”hard luck team,”” the boys played some good games and tried hard. Two of the best games played were the East Rochester and the Bright- on games. Fairport fought hard and lost by a slim margin to both: E. R., 42-40; Brighton, 46-40.
We are proud of the spirit shown by the boys on both teams, and we are not in the least discouraged about next year’s possibilities.
Next year, after twenty years of coaching, Mr. Paddock is retiring from coaching basketball. We thank you, Coach, for your hard work with the team; we wish you the best of luck with next year’s soccer team.
The information presented on this page has been sourced from different mediums and is intended to be as accurate as possible. We based our overall Win/Loss records on all games played, rather than league vs. non-league, division vs. non-division, etc. Therefore we have situations where the Team Summary may mention a different Win/Loss record. We have noted any known inaccuracies and/or gaps in this team’s data below. (NR – means “Not Reported”)
