Team Summary

* Extracted from Fairport’s Hourglass Yearbooks, unless noted otherwise.

After the highly successful football season, we started the basketball season with high hopes. True, we lost to Marshall and Canandaigua in a pair of opening games, but after all, they were non-league games so who cared? When Webster took our measure in the league opener, things looked a little serious, but our spirits rose week by week as we took into camp on successive weeks, Irondequoit, Brockport, Brighton, and Spencerport. For good measure we took a non-league game from LeRoy as well. This brought us up to the climax game of the first half program with one league loss. East Rochester, our rival for the game, had not lost. Therefore if we beat them we would be in a tie with them and Webster for the first half championship. However, our pennant hopes crashed around our ears with East Rochester’s decisive, though not crushing defeat of the Red and Blue forces.

In the second half of the schedule, the roof fell in. We managed to win from Brockport and Spencerport and to stay out of the league cellar, but that was small consolation for losses to Webster, Irondequoit, Brighton, LeRoy, Marshall, and East Rochester. However, the locals displayed a good brand of basketball and we have nothing to be ashamed of in a season that found us at about the middle of the heap among county schools.

The information presented on this page has been sourced from different mediums and is intended to be as accurate as possible. We based our overall Win/Loss records on all games played, rather than league vs. non-league, division vs. non-division, etc. Therefore we have situations where the Team Summary may mention a different Win/Loss record. We have noted any known inaccuracies and/or gaps in this team’s data below. (NR – means “Not Reported”)
