* Extracted from Fairport’s Hourglass Yearbooks, unless noted otherwise.
Taking their place on the floor with Dave Beato, the only veteran of last year’s starting five, a group of inexperienced cagers embarked upon the county basketball circuit. Although the season started slow, with close games dropped, when the second half opened, Fairport had its sights on the county crown. Webster cut our enthusiasm short, however, beating us 51-38.
Although the top was not gained, Fairport finished third place behind East Rochester and Webster. Dave Beato earned himself a berth on the All-County five and the men returning next year are looking forward to a good season.
